Type 1: Primary Emulsifier for Oil Based Mud Drilling Fluid (SOM-01)
Product Description
Primary Emulsifier for Oil Based Mud Drilling Fluids SOM-01 is a polyamide emulsifier, which can be applied to diesel oil based and palm oil based and white oil based water-in-oil systems. The drilling fluid system with SOM-01 has superior electrical stability and anti-pollution properties. In addition, the drilling fluid system with SOM-01 has ideal yield point and gel strength when its apparent viscosity is relatively low. The viscosity of the system does not change much during drilling process.
The designed theoretical temperature resistance of SOM-01 can be up to 480℉ (250℃), and the real application of SOM-01 on drilling field is up to 428℉ (220℃). In many field cases over 410℉ (210 ℃) it keeps good effect of emulsification.
SOM-01 itself is an excellent oil-wetting agent. In the drilling fluid system with SOM-01, no additional oil-wetting agent is required.
Apply recommended amount of SOM-01 when the density of the system is lower than 1.6g/cm3. Increase the amount of SOM-01 accordingly when the density of the system is higher than 1.6g/cm3.

Applications
Typical technical data is based on the blend of primary emulsifier SOM-01 and secondary emulsifier SOM-02 designed to emulsify water in oil. The emulsion drilling fluid system with 80:20 oil-water ratio is stable when the temperature reachs 428℉ (220℃). This system has good rheological properties and stable viscosity. It is resistant to water, oil and detritus pollution.

Type 2: Secondary Emulsifier for Oil Based Mud Drilling Fluids (SOM-02)
Product Description
Secondary Emulsifier for oil based mud drilling fluids SOM-02 is a multi-ion group compound, which has superior emulsifying ability. It can be used in diesel oil based and palm oil based mud drilling fluid system. SOM-02 is a lipophilic emulsifier and can adjust Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance. Adding SOM-02 in the drilling fluid system with SOM-01 improves emulsion breaking voltage and rheological properties of the drilling fluid system.

Emulsion drilling fluid system with 80:20 oil-water ratio:
-SOM-02 concentration: 1.0-1.5%
-Water phase: 30% CaCl2 solution
-Oil phase: diesel oil/white oil
This system has good rheological properties and stable viscosity. It is resistant to water, oil and detritus pollution.
